US, Argentina Sign Deal to Strengthen Critical Minerals Supply

(MENAFN) The United States and Argentina have finalized an agreement focused on critical minerals, according to a statement from Argentina’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday.

The deal aims to strengthen cooperation in the mining and processing of essential minerals, enhancing the security and reliability of supply chains for both nations.

The announcement came shortly after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio hosted the inaugural Critical Minerals Ministerial at the State Department. The two countries emphasized their “strategic partnership and their commitment to developing a secure, resilient and competitive supply chain,” the statement added.

Argentina’s government noted that the framework agreement offers significant opportunities for economic and industrial growth. Mining exports from the country totaled $6.037 billion in 2025, the ministry reported.

“Argentina is on track to increase its total exports to around $100 billion in the next seven years, with a growing contribution from mining, which could exceed $20 billion within that timeframe and reach more than $30 billion by the end of the next decade,” the statement said.
